Reflexology
Mike Matthews, Author and Editor of Shared Care - Google+ Profile
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology was developed In the 1930s by Eunice Ingham from an older idea of an american doctor Dr William Fitzgerald that there is a "map" of the body's organs on the feet. The left foot relates to the left side of the body and similarly the right foot to the right side of the body.
The reflexologist can detect subtle differences in these areas and directs massage to the reflex area of the affected organ. This rebalances the subtle energy flows that are disrupted causing illness in the "reflex" organ, and promotes healing as well as a more general sense of wellbeing.
Less commonly the reflex areas on the hands can be used and a kind of acupuncture called Koro Hand Therapy utilises this idea.
Reflexology is one of Natural Remedies from Shared Care's touching therapies together with Acupuncture, Biofeedback, Chiropractic, Craniosacral Therapy, Healing Touch, Massage, Osteopathy and Shiatsu.

Introduction to Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient healing practice and a modern alternative health care method. Everything from daily stress to more significant conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and multiple sclerosis (MS) are being treated by a healing regimen that includes reflexology.
